Robotics Capabilities
Inspection, without the scaffolding.
Our drones solve the major inefficiencies associated with traditional inspection methods. Site inspections that previously took weeks can now be completed in just a few days — all while keeping valued personnel safe from hazardous conditions such as toxic gasses, confined spaces and excessive fall heights.
What it is
Full structural inspection by air, wall and water
Traditional inspection methods — bucket trucks, road closures, and placing highly skilled inspectors at dangerous heights and challenging angles — are now obsolete with the advent of drone technology. Gedeon GRC conducts full construction and structural inspections without the need for scaffolding, man lifts, or ropes.
Gedeon GRC's robotics fleet is equipped with advanced inspection hardware, including sonar, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic thickness (UT) capabilities. Our thermal cameras can detect minute differences in thermal temperatures that other systems cannot identify in broad daylight, enabling inspectors to distinguish between objects with similar temperatures.
Our Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) capabilities allow for the detection of infrastructure defects more quickly, easily, and cost-effectively than traditional methods — applying sensors directly to surfaces to collect important, actionable data. And because these efficiencies are achieved at a significantly lower cost, Gedeon GRC passes the savings on to our clients.
| Timeline | Inspections that previously took weeks completed in just a few days |
|---|---|
| Safety | Personnel kept clear of toxic gasses, confined spaces and excessive fall heights |
| Sensors | Sonar, radiometric thermal imaging, ultrasonic thickness (UT) gauging |
| Access | No scaffolding, man lifts, ropes, bucket trucks or road closures |
| Cost | Significantly lower than traditional methods — savings passed to clients |
When to use it
Where robotic inspection earns its keep
Hazardous & confined environments
Interiors with toxic gasses, confined spaces, or excessive fall heights — anywhere placing an inspector is a risk rather than a routine.
Structures needing access equipment
Bridges, facades and towers that would otherwise demand bucket trucks, road closures, scaffolding, man lifts or rope access teams.
Thermal anomaly detection
Envelope, roofing and electrical surveys where minute temperature differences — invisible to other systems in broad daylight — reveal moisture, delamination or hot spots.
Non-Destructive Testing
Steel and plate assets where UT sensors applied directly to the surface quantify remaining thickness and flag defects early — quickly, easily and cost-effectively.
Underwater & marine assets
Piers, bulkheads, intakes and outfalls inspected by remotely operated vehicle with sonar — no dive team mobilization for the first look.
Schedule-critical programs
Construction and structural inspection programs where compressing weeks of fieldwork into days keeps the wider project on time and on budget.
Platform fit
All three platforms, one inspection capability
Inspection is the one capability that draws on our entire fleet — indoor, outdoor and underwater.
Flyability Elios 3
The collision-tolerant workhorse for tanks, culverts, shafts and interiors. Radiometric thermal and 4K RGB document condition, survey-grade LiDAR localizes every finding, and the UT gauge payload takes thickness readings on contact — NDT without entry.
Skydio X10
Autonomous outdoor inspection at height. Telephoto and medium RGB cameras resolve fine cracking from a safe standoff, thermal finds anomalies daylight hides, RTK/PPK pins each image, and the spotlight enables night or shaded-deck work.
Deep Trekker Revolution
The ROV for submerged structure. 4K RGB with onboard lighting captures visual condition, multibeam sonar sees through turbid water, and USBL positioning ties every observation to a real-world location.
Deliverables
