Overview

For over a decade, Gedeon GRC Consulting has been providing engineering design services for various requirements/task-order contracts throughout the five boroughs of New York City, as both a prime consultant and a sub-consultant. These contracts cover a wide range of infrastructure projects as well as the design and construction of new buildings and major building renovations.

Breadth of scope

Assignments include streets, roadways, bridges, retaining walls/bulkheads, sewers, water mains, stormwater management, bioswale/green infrastructure design, traffic studies and analyses, data collection, grading, drainage design, catch basins, pedestrian plazas and streetscape design — including sidewalks, curbs and ramps, street lighting, street hardware, benches and landscape design — fire hydrants, utilities relocation, Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT), traffic signals, pavement design, permitting, and extensive vault program studies involving in-depth investigation and inventory.

Building-side work covers exterior facades, interior restoration and landscaping with sustainability and resiliency goals in mind for community, health, library, sanitation, transportation, cultural and parks facilities; structural interior and exterior renovations; seismic upgrades; ADA compliance; historic preservation; stormwater management; sustainable and resiliency design; Envision design; grading and drainage; landscape design; and utilities relocation.

Outreach & coordination

The scope of work also entailed community outreach and coordination with agencies including NYCDOT, NYCDOB, NYCDEP, FEMA, LPC, NYSDOT, NYCDPR and MTA Bus and Transit, as well as utility companies spanning electric, cable, gas and phone services.
