Overview
Gedeon GRC Consulting was selected as a prime consultant for the survey, mapping, and preliminary and final design of stormwater remediation improvements for County Road 80 in the Town of Southampton, NY. The main goal of the project was to remediate the quantity and quality of highway stormwater runoff originating from CR 80, Montauk Highway, from the vicinity of Maidstone Lane to the vicinity of Hillover Road.
New drainage system
The installation of a new drainage system was required to remedy the situation. A new positive drainage system was designed for installation along the length of CR 80, Montauk Highway; a hydrologic survey and analysis of the watershed was completed to determine whether additional portions of the roadway required drainage systems and whether the existing drainage system was still needed.
Roadway improvements & additional components
For roadway resurfacing within the drainage-system limits, the team provided design for full-depth pavement repair, curb, sidewalk, utilities and other roadway infrastructure improvements along certain roadway portions. Other tasks included construction cost estimates and plans, presentations, contract documents, permits, specifications and agency coordination.
